Abstract

Human capital is a central driver of organizational performance, innovation, and competitive
advantage. Strategic human capital development and talent acquisition encompass practices that
ensure organizations attract, retain, and develop employees effectively. This review synthesizes
contemporary literature on talent acquisition strategies, recruitment and selection, onboarding,
talent management, leadership development, performance management, learning and
development, diversity, equity, and inclusion, employee engagement, workforce planning, and
human capital analytics. Emerging trends, challenges, and best practices are examined,
highlighting implications for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers. The findings emphasize
the need for integrated, evidence-based strategies to enhance organizational outcomes and
workforce sustainability.
