Abstract

The manufacture and usage of novel materials in engineering applications is on the rise, as it is in all technological fields. The most common geosynthetic materials used in civil engineering include geonet, geomembrane, geotextile, geogrid, geocomposite, geosynthetic, geocell. Geosynthetics are materials made from polymeric polymers. The preference for high-quality geosynthetic materials and qualified geosynthetic applications is required to ensure sustainability in the realised applications and ongoing projects. Roads (pavements), airports, ports, railroads are all included in the field of transportation engineering, which is a subset of civil engineering. Additionally, geosynthetic materials extend the design life and performance of transportation structures, particularly in regions with weak soils. With a quick and easy installation method, geosynthetics significantly outperform conventional road construction goods in terms of value and construction costs. The many uses and advantages of various geosynthetic material types in transportation infrastructure are reviewed in this paper.
